A Spoonful of Stiles & Drewe 1 night charity gala at Her Majesty’s Theatre on Sunday 6 July 2008
A Spoonful of Stiles & Drewe, a one night charity gala performance, will be at Her Majesty’s Theatre on Sunday 6 July 2008, in support of Mercury Musical Developments, an organisation working to nurture new British musical theatre writing.
The gala celebrates 25 years of songwriting by the Olivier Award winning duo of musical theatre composer George Stiles and lyricist Anthony Drewe, whose credits include "Honk!" (Olivier, NT in 1999); "Peter Pan" (Royal Festival Hall in 2001 and 2002); "Just So" (Chichester 2004); new songs for "Mary Poppins" (Prince Edward in 2004). The show will also include a preview of their new show "Soho Cinders".
The cast includes Joanna Riding, Clive Rowe, Leanne Jones, Helena Blackman, Daniel Boys, James Gillan, Oliver Tompsett, Scarlett Strallen, Julie Atherton, Alison Jiear and Claire Moore.
It will also feature special guest appearances by Stiles and Drewe themselves.
The gala is produced by Neil Eckersley and Paul Spicer for Speckulation Entertainment with creative direction by Paul Spicer, staging by Chris Hocking, musical supervision by George Stiles, musical direction by David Randall, choreography by Rebecca Giacopazzi and sound by Mark Dunne.
