Six Characters in Search of an Author with Ian McDiarmid at Gielgud from 10 Sep 2008
The Chichester Festival production of Six Characters in Search of an Author, by Luigi Pirandello, in a new version by Rupert Goold and Ben Power, will open at the Gielgud Theatre 15 Sep 2008, following previews from 10 Sep - booking to 8 Nov 2008.
Starring Ian McDiarmid, it is directed by Rupert Goold , designed by Miriam Beuther, lighting by Malcolm Rippeth.
Six characters arrive unannounced during the editing of a documentary film. Unfinished characters desperately in search of an author, the documentary producer agrees to let them film their story. Pirandello’s exploration of reality and the blurred border between fiction and life, between the stage and the world outside, is transported into the 21st Century in this new version.
