VAGINA MONOLOGUES NEW CAST 19TH AUG 02


Casting news concerning The Vagina Monologues, at the Arts Theatre

Lesley Joseph, Morwena Banks and Tanya Moodie to join the cast from 19th Aug 02.

Lesley Joseph's , West End credits include "Annie" at the Victoria Palace Theatre in 1998. Although she is best known as Dorien, the man-eating neighbour in BBC TV's comedy "Birds of a Feather".



Tanya Moodie's London credits include "The Oedipus Plays" in 1996 and "The Darker Face of the Earth" in 1999, both at the National Theatre. "The Prince of Homburg" for the RSC at Stratford and then Lyric Hammersmith this year. And "Le Costume" at the Young Vic 2002. Her TV credits include playing Geraldine in "Dr Willoughby".

Morwena Banks, is a Comedian, writer and actor.

This production of The Vagina Monologues opened at the New Ambassadors Theatre on 10th May 01. It then transferred to the Arts Theatre on 23rd Oct 01 and then transferred back to the New Ambassadors on 26th Feb 02 and then transferred back to Arts Theatre 25th June 02

The Vagina Monologues is written by Eve Ensler, designed by Bunny Christie with lighting by Chris Davey.

Based on interviews with a diverse group of women - from a Long Island antique dealer to a Bosnian refugee - the play brazenly explores the humour, power, pain, wisdom, outrage, mystery and excitement hidden in vaginas.
