"STOMP" AT VAUDEVILLE THEATRE FROM 24TH SEP 02

It is now confirmed that Stomp will open at the Vaudeville Theatre on 25th Sep 02, follwing previews from 24th Sep 02

This award winning show has previously played at The Roundhouse and Sadler’s Wells and has toured throughout the UK. The Vaudeville Theatre marks its first foray to the heart of the West End.

Originally created in Brighton in 1991 by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas, Stomp , is a unique combination of percussion, movement and visual comedy. Since its inception, the production has toured to 39 diverse countries from Russia to Brazil, Australia to Japan and Germany to Taiwan and has become an international stage phenomenon. Over 10 million people have seen this show throughout the world.

Stomp is currently in its 9th year of continuous performance at the Orpheum Theatre, Off Broadway and in May of 2002 celebrated two years of continuous performances in San Francisco. It is also the longest sell-out run of any foreign production in Paris.

Stomp finds beauty and music in the mundane – from boots and bins to zippo lighters and plumber’s plungers – everything including the kitchen sink becomes part of this production as a cast of 8 performers make instruments out of brooms and turn hand-clapping into conversation. With energy and toe-tapping exuberance, STOMP takes the clutter and junk of everyday life and transforms it into a theatrical event.
