"HUMBLE BOY" TO CLOSE 17TH AUG 02

Humble Boy, which posted closing notices at the Gielgud Theatre last week for 24th Aug 02, has brought the closing date forward by one week and will now close on Saturday 17th Aug 02

This play opened for a limited run at the Cottesloe, NT in August last year with Diana Rigg in the lead role along with Simon Russell Beale. It received great notices from the popular press.

The play transferred to the Gielgud Theatre in January this year with Felicity Kendal taking over Diana Rigg's part.

From 7th June Maria Aitken and Adrian Scarborough took over from Felicity Kendal and Simon Russell Beale.

The play was booking to the end of November, but poor advance sales has forced an early closure on 17th Aug 02.

Directed by John Caird, this is a comedy about broken vows, failed hopes and the joys of beekeeping. All is not well in the Humble hive. 35 year old Felix Humble is a Cambridge astro-physicist in search of a unified field theory. Following the sudden death of his father, he returns to his middle England and his difficult and demanding mother, where he soon realises that his search for unity must include his own chaotic home life.
