Donmar Warehouse 3 months at Trafalgar Studios from Sep

The Donmar Warehouse is to launch an annual three-month residency at the Trafalgar Studios 2, which will allow it to showcase the work of graduates from its trainee director programme.

The residency starts at the end of September, with three productions over 12 weeks: Lower Ninth a new play by Beau Willimon, directed by Charlotte Westenra, concerning the after-effects of Hurricane Katrina (30 Sep to 23 Oct 2010); Novecento by Alessandro Baricco, directed by Roisin McBrinn, concerning a legendary jazz musician (28 Oct to 20 Nov 2010); and Les Parents Terribles by Jean Cocteau, translated by Jeremy Sams, directed by Chris Rolls, about a bohemian thirties Parisian household. (25 Nov to 18 Dec 2010)

Public booking opens 7 June 2010.

Michael Grandage, the artistic director of the Donmar Warehouse, said: “It has always been a great privilege to support young directors through the Donmar's RAD scheme and this residency at the Trafalgar will now give everyone an opportunity to watch the next generation of theatre directors at work. I have every confidence that over the next three years we will see some serious and important talent emerging that will help us focus on the theatre practitioners of the future."
