Etcetera in Mar: Birdbath by Melfi & Extraction by O’Keefe

Coming up in March at the Etcetera Theatre, a fringe venue in Camden Town north London, incudes...

Myshkin Theatre presents Birdbath by Leonard Melfi, from 10 to 13 March 2010. Directed by Pawel Kropinski, starring Frances Bushe, James Dutton. Eyes meet across a bar, there is a pause and in that moment a young man and woman connect, but this is not a love story. In 1960s New York two troubled individuals try and find solace in one another. Velma, played by Frances Bushe, can’t stop shaking, her nerves and stuttering belying her positive demeanour. In the late night Cafeteria where she works she meets Frankie, played by James Dutton. Together they try and forget but some things are not so easy to push aside.

Papercut Theatre presents Extraction by Catie O’Keefe, from 16 to 21 March 2010. Directed by Melissa Dunne, starring Nicola Biden, Imran Mirza, Emily O’Connor, Kate Richard & Matthew Schmolle. Extraction – to have something taken away or removed. Like your everyday boring life or your dreams of becoming a painter. Your kidney? It’s Nizwar’s desire to help people which leads to his strange, dangerous, and very secretive career. Yet, in doing so, what has he extracted from his own life?

Vital Signs Theatre presents Immaculate by Oliver Lansley, from 23 to 28 March 2010. You're young free single, and haven't had sex for a very long time. One morning you wake up heavily pregnant and Angel Gabriel is at the door claiming parentage, along with another, darker, prospective father.
