Cast update for William Shakespeare's Macbeth, directed by Eve Best, which opens at the Shakespeare Globe Theatre, 2 July, following previews from 22 June - running to 13 Oct 2013.

Joining previously mentioned Joseph Millson as 'Macbeth', are Samantha Spiro as 'Lady Macbeth' and Bette Bourne as 'Porter'.

Samantha Spiro's recent London stage credits include The Taming of the Shrew at Shakespeare Globe in 2012; Filumena at the Almeida in 2012; Chicken Soup with Barley at Royal Court Downstairs in 2011; Hello Dolly & Much Ado About Nothing at the Open Air Regent's Park in 2009; Maria in Teelfth Night at the Wyndham's in 2008.

When three witches tell Macbeth that he is destined to occupy the throne of Scotland, he and his wife choose to become the instruments of their fate and to kill the first man standing in their path, the virtuous King Duncan. But to maintain his position, Macbeth must keep on killing – first Banquo, his old comrade-in-arms; then, as the atmosphere of guilt and paranoia thickens, anyone who seems to threaten his tyrant’s crown.
