Open Air Theatre 2010 Season Cast Updates


Most of the casting has been confirmed for The Open Air Theatre 2010 Season.

Arthur Miller’s The Crucible will be the first production, opening 2 June 2010, following previews from 24 May - running to 19 June 2010, directed by Timothy Sheader. The cast includes Patrick O’Kane (John Proctor), Emma Cunniffe (Elizabeth Proctor), Emily Taaffe (Abigail), Oliver Ford-Davies (Danforth), Lucy May Barker, Charlie Cameron, Philip Cumbus, Anni Domingo, Susan Engel, Christopher Fulford, Patrick Godfrey, Christopher Hunter, Bettrys Jones, Paul Kemp, Geoff Leesley, Alexandra Mathie, Gary Milner, Ellie Paskell, Malcolm Rogers. The play is based on the events that led to the Salem witch trials.

William Shakespeare's A Comedy of Errors, will open 29 June 2010, following previews from 24 June - running to 31 July 2010, directed by Philip Franks. Cast includes Daniel Weyman (Antipholus of Syracuse), Daniel Llewelyn-Williams (Antipholus of Ephesus), Jo Herbert (Adriana), Anna-Jane Casey (fronting a live swing band in the role of Courtesan), Alister Cameron, Josh Cohen, Joseph Kloska, Christopher Logan, Christopher Ravenscroft, Sophie Roberts, Veronica Roberts, David Shaw-Parker, Richard Warrick, Faye Winter.

Families and school children will be transported to Burnham wood as Macbeth is re-imagined for audiences aged 6 and over. The Scottish play will be performed during the day from 3 to 31 July 2010, directed by Steve Marmion. Cast includes Golda Rosheuvel (Lady Macbeth), Simon Trinder (Macduff), Josephine Butler (Banquo)

Ending the season will be the musical Into the Woods, opening 11 Aug 2010, following previews from 5 August - running to 11 September 2010. Music & Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by James Lapine, directed by Timothy Sheader. Cast includes Hannah Waddingham (Witch), Jenna Russell (Baker’s Wife), Marc Antolin, Valda Aviks, Billy Boyle, Gaye Brown, Sophie Caton, Alice Fearn, Mark Goldthorp, Amy Griffiths, Mark Hadfield, Amy Ellen Richardson, Ben Stott, Gemma Wardle.
