The Color Purple by Alice Walker, adapted for the stage by Marsha Norman, with music and lyrics by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis and Stephen Bray., opens at Menier Chocolate Factory, an Off West End venue in south London, on 15 July 2013, following previews from 5 July - running to 14 Sep 2013.

Directed & designed by John Doyle, this family chronicle follows the inspirational Celie, as she journeys from childhood through joy and despair, anguish and hope to discover the power of love and life.
