The Warehouse Theatre, in Croydon south London, has announced that an anonymous donor has come forward and given £40,000 . This money will pay for the new schedule of Health and Safety works, which forced the closure of the theatre in January. The new Spring season will now include Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill by Lanie Robertson, starring Dawn Hope (30 Apr to 18 May 03); A new Asian version of Strinberg's Miss Julie, directed by Nadua Fall (23 May to 8 Jul 03); Knock Down Ginger by Mark Norfolk (13 Jun to 13 Jul 03).

Following a planning meeting on the 19th March 2003, the Mermaid Theatre has been condemned to demolition without replacement. A planning gain of 6 million ukp to compensate for the loss of the site is currently being negotiated. The Corporation of London is to replace the theatre with offices.
