"His Girl Friday" further casting announced


Further casting has been announced for His Girl Friday, which opens at the Olivier Theatre, NT on 5 June 03, following previews from 29 May 03, and booking to 5 Jul 03.

The cast includes Alex Jennings (Walter Burns) Zoe Wanamaker (Hildy Johnson), Margaret Tyzack

Alex Jennings' London stage credits include for the RSC "Measure for Measure"in 1995, "A Midsummer NIght's Dream" in 1995, "Hamlet" in 1997, "Much Ado About Nothing" in 1998, all at the Barbican; "Peer Gynt" at the Young Vic in 1995; "Albert Speer" at the National in 2000, "The Winter's Tale" and "The Relapse" both at the National in 2001. And most recently "My Fair Lady" at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, where he won Best Actor In A Musical or Entertainment at this years Olivier AWards for his part as 'Professor Henry Higgins'.

Zoe Wanamaker's London stage credits include "Dead Funny" at the Vaudeville in 1994;"The Glass Menagerie, at the Donmar & Comedy in 1995/96; "Sylvia" at Apollo in 1996; "Electra" at the Donmar Warehouse in 1997; "The Old Neighborhood" at the Royal Court in 1998; "Battle Royal"at the National in 1999; and "Boston Marriage" at the Donmar Warehouse & New Ambassadors in 2001. Her TV credits include the BBC series "My Family".

Margaret Tyzack,is currently starring in "Auntie and Me" at the Wyndham's Theatre. Her London stage credits include "Tartuffe" at the National in 2002; "The Family Reunion" at the Barbican Pit in 2000; and "Talking Heads" at the Comedy in 1996.

The show also features Gordon Adams, Sam Beazley Paul Birchard, Dermot Crowley, David Ross, Chris Ryan

His Girl Friday, is adapted by John Guare from The Front Page by Ben Hecht & Charles MacArthur, and the film produced by Columbia Pictures. It is directed by Jack O'Brien, designed by Bob Crowley, with lighting by Mark Henderson.
