MAMMA MIA! now booking to 27 March 2004

Mamma Mia!, tickets have gone on sale today for the show's new booking period up to 27 March 2004 at the Prince Edward Theatre.

This musical, based on the songs of ABBA, opened in London at the Prince Edward Theatre on 6th April 1999, following previews from 23rd March 99, to rave reviews and smash business. The show continues to break all Box Office records at the Prince Edward Theatre. It has grossed over £80 million and sold over 2 and half million tickets.

As reported last week the show will have major cast changes from 17 Mar 03: Alexandra Jay and Samuel Board take over the roles of 'Sophie' and 'Sky'. Kim Ismay will play 'Tanya', Tim Wallers 'Harry', Michael Simkins 'Sam'. Louise Plowright (Donna); Myra McFadyen (Rosie); Rohan Tickell (Bill) will continue in the show.

The show has music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus.

This original musical, which is a story of a mother and daughter set on the eve of the daughter's wedding, has a book by Catherine Johnson.

It is designed by Mark Thompson, with lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce & Bobby Aitken and musical supervision, additional material and arrangements by Martin Koch.

It is choreographed by Anthony Van Laast and directed by Phyllida Lloyd.
