Underneath The Lintel to close 31 March 2007

Underneath the Lintel, is to close two weeks early on 31 March 2007 at the Duchess Theatre.

Starring Richard Schiff, the play opened at the Duchess Theatre 12 Feb 2007, following previews from 7 Feb , to mixed notices from the popular press: NICHOLAS DE JONGH for THE EVENING STANDARD says, "awful...stupefyingly dull." BENEDICT NIGHTINGALE for THE TIMES says, "Absorbing." ALASTAIR MACAULAY for THE FINANCIAL TIUMES says, "It is obvious Schiff is doing a great deal of acting here, none of it good." LYN GARDNER for the GUARDIAN says, "Schiff delivers, but, like the play, he never startles." CHARLES SPENCER for THE DAILY TELEGRAPH says, "One of those rare pieces that keeps you enthralled throughout."

It is directed by Maria Mileaf and produced by Michael Edwards and Carole Winter with Paul Coxwell.

Would you recognise a miracle if you saw one? An ancient myth is unlocked when a small town librarian embarks on a quest to find out who anonymously returned a book, 113 years overdue. A clue scribbled in the margin and an unclaimed dry-cleaning ticket takes us on an adventure that spans the globe and the ages. Underneath the Lintel tells the story of one mans journey of self-discovery.
