Tyzack joins Wilton in The Chalk Garden


Margaret Tyzack will join previously mentioned Penelope Wilton, in Enid Bagnold's The Chalk Garden , which opens at the Donmar Warehouse 11 June 2008, following previews from 5 June - running to 2 Aug 2008.

Margaret Tyzack's London stage credits include: "Southwark Fair" at the Cottesloe, NT in 2006; "As You Desire Me" at the Playhouse in 2005; "His Girl Friday" at the Olivier, NT in 2003; "Auntie & Me" at the Wyndham's in 2003; "Tartuffe" at the Lyttelton, NT in 2002; "The Family Reunion" at the Barbican Pit in 2000; and "Talking Heads" at the Comedy in 1996; "Indian Ink" at the Aldwych in 1995.

Penelope Wilton's London stage credits include "John Gabriel Borkman" at the Donmar Warehouse in 2007; "House of Bernarda Alba" at the National in 2005; "Afterplay" at the Gielgud in 2002; "Little Foxes" at the Donmar Warehouse in 2001; "The Seagull" at the Barbican in 2000; "Cherry Orchard" at the Albery 1996; "Landscape" at the National in 1994.

It is directed by Michael Grandage, designed by Peter McKintosh, lighting by Paule Constable, sound by Adam Cork.

Raised in a manor house beside the sea, where the flowers struggle to grow, sixteen-year-old Laurel runs wild. As her eccentric grandmother tends to the garden, Laurel’s need for love forces her into a world of fantasy. But things begin to change with the sudden appointment of a governess who brings a mysterious new presence to an already dysfunctional household.
