The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time extends

The National Theatre production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, has extended its run at the Apollo Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, well in to next year to 25 Oct 2014.

The play won 7 Olivier awards last month, including Best Play.

Based on the novel by Mark Haddon, adapted by Simon Stephens, the show played to sold out houses at the National Theatre's small Cottesloe Theatre 24 July to 27 Oct 2012, and transferred to the West End's Apollo Theatre, opening 12 March 2013, following previews from 1 March.

Luke Treadaway currently stars as Christopher Boone. He plays the role Wednesday to Saturdays (Johnny Gibbon plays the part Mondays & Tuesdays)

It is directed by Marianne Elliott, designed by Bunny Christie, lighting by Paule Constable, sound by Ian Dickinson.

Christopher, fifteen years old, stands beside Mrs Shears’ dead dog. It has been speared with a garden fork, it is seven minutes after midnight and Christopher is under suspicion. He records each fact in a book he is writing to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington. He has an extraordinary brain, exceptional at maths while ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that upturns his world.
