Female of the Species at Vaudeville from 10 July
Joanna Murray-Smith's comedy The Female of the Species, is now confirmed to open at the Vaudeville Theatre 16 July 2008, following previews from 10 July - booking to 4 Oct 2008
Directed by Roger Michell, the cast includes Eileen Atkins, Anna Maxwell Martin, Sophie Thompson, Sam Kelly, Con O'Neill.
Best-selling author Margot is 'sprinting for a deadline' in her country home when she is confronted by Molly. What appears to be hero-worship slowly takes on a sinister edge as it emerges that Molly blames Margot's ever-changing feminist perspective for ruining her life.
(The initial plot premise is inspired by a real-life incident in April 2000, when author Germaine Greer was held captive in her home by a deluded young student.)
