Under The Blue Sky confirmed from 15 July 2008


The West End premiere of David Eldridge’s Under the Blue Sky, is now confirmed to open at the Duke of York's Theatre 25 July 2008, following previews from 15 July - booking to 20 Sep 2008.

Joining previously mentioned Catherine Tate (Michelle), are Francesca Annis (Anne) , Lisa Dillon (Helen) , Chris O’Dowd (Nick), Dominic Rowan.

It is directed by Anna Mackmin, designed by Lez Brotherston, lighting by Mark Henderson, sound by Paul Arditti, and produced by Sonia Friedman Productions and Robert G. Bartner.

Three subtly connected love stories that reveal in turn the roller-coaster ride of lust in its prime, the sacrifices of a life in public service and unrequited passions.

Catherine Tate, is an actress and comedienne best-known for her BBC Two sketch comedy series, The Catherine Tate Show. Her other TV credits include Donna Noble in the 2006 Christmas special of Doctor Who and has since reprised the role as the the Doctor's companion for the fourth series in 2008. She last last on the West End stage in "Some Girls" at the Gielgud in 2005.

Francesca Annis' West End stage credits includes "Epitaph For George Dillon" at the Comedy in 2005; "Pirandello's HENRY IV" at the Donmar Warehouse in 2004; "Blood" at the Royal Court Downstairs in 2003; "The Vortex" at the Donmar Warehouse in 2002; "Ghosts" at the Comedy in 2001; "Lady Windermere's Fan" at the Albery in 1994.

Lisa Dillon's London stage credits includes "The Hour We Knew Nothing of Each Other " at the Lyttelton, NT in 2008; "Present Laughter " at the Lyttelton, NT in 2006; "Period of Adjustment" at the Almeida in 2006; "Hedda GablerH" at the Almeida & Duke of York's in 2005; "Othello" at the Trafalgar Studios in 2004; "Master Builder" at the Albery in 2003.

Chris O’Dowd best known for his performance as Roy in Channel 4’s hit comedy series The IT Crowd, is making his West End stage debut.

Dominic Rowan's London stage credits includes "Happy KNow?" currently at the Cottesloe, NT; "Voyage Round My Father" at the Donmar & Wyndham's in 2006; "A Dream Play" at the Cottesloe, NT in 2005; "Forty Winks" at the Royal Court in 2004; "Iphigenia At Aulis" at the Lyttelton, NT in 2004; "Mourning Becomes Electra" at the Lytelton, NT in 2003; "Three Sisters" at the Lyttelton, NT in 2003; "Talking Cure" at the Cottesloe, NT in 2002; "Private Lives" at the Lyttelton, NT in 1999.
