Richard Griffiths throws out a member of the audience?

It was reported by the Evening Standard that Richard Griffiths halted the performance of "Heroes" during a Saturday matinee performance at the Wyndham's theatre and threw out a member of the audience after her mobile phone went off for the third time during the performance. Griffiths was on stage in the penultimate scene when the phone rang for the third time, he asked: "Is that it or will it be ringing some more? "Could the person whose mobile phone it is please leave? The 750 people here would would be fully justified in suing you for ruining their afternoon."

However, The Society of London Theatre (SOLT) report suggests Griffiths was more colourful with his language: “He just had enough, so he walked to the front of the stage and asked her if her f***ing phone was going to ring one more time or could he finish the play,” says David Pugh, producer of Heroes. “He said ‘there’s 750 people sitting in here, and if I was them I’d sue you for spoiling their afternoon. In fact why don’t you leave the theatre now, f*** off’, and it brought the house down. There was standing ovation.”
