Art has posted closing notices at the Whitehall Theatre. The last performance will be on 4 Jan 2003.
Colin Haigh (Marc), Gareth Harris (Serge), Michael Gyngell (Yvan) have joined the cast.
The League of Gentlemen (Mark Gatiss (Serge), Steve Pemberton (Marc), Reece Shearsmith (Yvan) join the cast from 14 Oct 02. They will be the 27th cast of the London production.
Art by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton, opened in London
at Wyndham's Theatre on 15th Oct 1996 starring Albert Finney, Tom Courtenay
and Ken Stott, and won both the Evening Standard Drama Award and the
Laurence Olivier Award for 'Best Comedy'.
The show transferred to the Whitehall Theatre in October 2001 where it will close 4 Jan 03
The play is directed by Matthew Warchus (Re-directed by Nigel Havers) . It is designed by Mark Thompson and
produced by David Pugh Limited and Sean Connery.
The story concerns the relationship between three friends that is turned upon its head when one of them purchases a work of modern art.
