"MRS WARREN'S PROFESSION" CASTING NEWS


Full casting has now been confirmed for George Bernard Shaw's Mrs Warren's Profession, which opens at the Strand Theatre on 10th Oct 02, following previews from 2nd Oct 02, and booking to 18th Jan 03

The full cast is: Brenda Blethyn, Richard Johnson, Peter Blythe, Laurence Fox, Rebecca Hall, James Saxon.

Brenda Blethyn's last West End stage appearance was in Alan Bennett's "Habeas Corpus" at the Donmar Warehouse in 1996. Her film credits include Mike Leigh's "Secrets and Lies" (1996), "Little Voice" (1998) and "Saving Grace" (2000).

Richard Johnson's recent West End credits include "The Rivals" at the Albery in 1994, "Lady Windermere's Fan" at the Haymarket in 1997, "Plenty" at the Albery in 1999, and "Tales from Hollywood" at the Donmar in 2001

Peter Blythe's recent West End credits include "Amadeus" at the Old Vic in 1998, "Hay Fever" at the Savoy in 1999, "The Royal Family" at the Haymarket in 2001, and "Humble Boy" which closes at the Gielgud last month.

The play is directed by Peter Hall, designed by John Gunter with lighting by Peter Mumford.

Miss Vivie Warren is an educated, spirited, independent young woman with a sizeable income from her mother, the enigmatic Mrs Warren. When, after a lengthy absence abroad, Mrs Warren returns, it is evident that one question above all must be answered...what exactly is Mrs Warren's profession?
