Its roots go back to 1947 when Caryl Jenner set up the Mobile Theatre taking plays into schools and out to children in isolated communities. In 1962, The children’s company began to perform its shows every weekend at the Arts Theatre, in Leicester Square and changed its name to the Unicorn Theatre Club for Children. In 1967, Unicorn took over the lease for the Arts Theatre. In 1999, Unicorn finally moved out of the Arts Theatre. In 2003, the company moved to its current location, a new purpose-designed theatre for children.
