Jack O’Connell returns to the London stage in a new production of Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. He won the 2015 BAFTA award for Rising Star and has a very diverse résumé, ranging from theatre to Hollywood film.
Perhaps best known for his role on the E4 television series Skins on E4, appearing from 2009 – 2010, O’Connell’s first film role was in This is England in 2006. He went on to star in the television dramas Dive and United in 2011. His feature film breakthrough came in the independent movie Starred Up in 2013, which he followed up in 2014 with ’71. Angelina Jolie directed him in his first major Hollywood movie, Unbroken, in 2014, which led to his BAFTA success. His most recent film credit is Money Monster, directed by Jodie Foster and starring Academy Award-winners George Clooney and Julia Roberts.
He has performed at the National Theatre and the Royal Court Theatre, but Cat on a Hot Tin Roof marks his first full-scale commercial West End run. He will star alongside Sienna Miller in this limited engagement at the Apollo Theatre.
