Brokeback Mountain and Pride musical?

Brokeback Mountain

A new adaptation of Brokeback Mountain is currently in development by Tom O'Connell Productions Ltd, with a production planned for a London opening in 2016. Producer Tom O’Connell has announced that he has acquired the stage rights for Annie Proulx’s award winning short story and Oscar winning feature film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stephen Beresford, screenwriter of Pride, a British film starring Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton and Dominic West, confirmed at a London screening of the movie that a stage musical adaptation is in development. Director Matthew Warchus is attached to the project, which is eyeing a West End run. Pride is based on a true story about a group of gay activists who raise money to help a Welsh community of miners affected by the long-running miners' strike of 1984-5.
