Artistic Director of the Young Vic Kwame Kwei-Armah has announced the full cast for Jesus Hopped the ‘A’ Train. Written by Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Adly Gurgis, Jesus Hopped the ‘A’ Train is set inside a high-security prison in New York. As a young man is faced with a serial killer and the prison guards, the play offers an insightful look into the workings of the American justice system in a story where good and evil battle one another. Casting for Jesus Hopped the ‘A’ Train includes Matthew Douglas, who has previously starred in An Inspector Calls at the Playhouse Theatre.
The Young Vic under Kwame Kwei-Armah is already setting its stall by programming a more racially diverse series of plays and/or castings.
