Killer Joe Tickets

Tracy Letts’ black comedy Killer Joe follows The Smith family who plot to murder a wealthy matriarch and claim her insurance money. They hire Joe Cooper, a detective who doubles up as a part-time hitman, to go through with the job, but the plan takes a turn when Killer Joe meets the family’s innocent daughter.

Orlando Bloom stars as Joe. Orlando Bloom’s previous theatre credits include a Broadway production of Romeo and Juliet in 2013, and In Celebration at the Duke of York’s in 2007. He is best-known for his film work, primarily his roles in The Hobbit trilogy as Legolas, Will Turner in Pirates of the Caribbean and Paris in Troy.

The thriller was last seen in the West End in 1995, when it ran at the Vaudeville Theatre directed by Wilson Milam. The production hailed the unpredictability of the text, and gave Letts a reputation as one to watch. Other plays written by Letts include Bug, Man from Nebraska and Superior Donuts and he later adapted his play for cinema in 2012, directed by William Friedkin and starring Matthew McConaughey as Joe.

Please note: Orlando Bloom will not be performing in Killer Joe on the following dates: Wednesday 20th to Saturday 23 June inclusive, Friday 13th July to Saturday 21st July inclusive. The role of Joe Cooper at these performances will be played by James Groom.
