La Soirée is the ultimate entertainment for a Christmas night out. For the past eight years, the production’s cast of world-renowned cabaret and burlesque performers have been entertaining audiences under a Spiegeltent in Leicester Square, but for the first time, the show will be performed at the Aldwych Theatre in London’s West End.
Described as a ‘unique and inspirational night of live entertainment’, La Soirée sees some of the best circus and cabaret acts in the world descended on London for one hell of a night out. Past performers have included La Gateau Chocolat, Meow Meow, Ursula Martinez, Mario, Queen of the Circus, The Wau Wau Sisters and Hugo Desmarais. Performers for this year’s production are yet to be announced, but the bill promises to include a potent mix of potent contemporary entertainment.
In 2015, La Soirée won an Olivier Award for Best Entertainment and Family show.
For the first time this year, producers have also announced a children’s show, La Petite Soirée. Running on Saturday afternoons and throughout the Christmas holidays, La Petite Soirée will have the renowned spirit of La Soirée, suitable for everyone aged 8 to 80.
In a five-star review of the 2014 production, Mark Shenton hailed the show as ‘unmissable’ adding: ‘Regularly fearless and sometimes frank, this is also the sexiest show in town’.
