Lorraine Hansberry is best remembered by her 1959 breakthrough play 'A Raisin in the Sun' which not only made her the first African American writer to be produced on Broadway, as well as one of the first women, but also found a new style of writing that cemented traditional dramatic conventions and elements alongside a contemporary topic.
