Monster Raving Looney

Monster Raving Looney

Venue:
Soho Theatre
Location:
Fringe
Duration:
1 Hour 30 Mins

Using the life and exploits of Screaming Lord Sutch to examine the state of the nation and Britain’s post-war identity crisis, Samuel James reprises his critically acclaimed role as Sutch, a ventriloquist channelling the cultural voices around him. Seen through the eyes of this one extraordinary man, James Graham displays his playwriting virtuosity and in his forensic, sardonic, finger on the pulse style, tells the story of Sutch through a cavalcade of comic characters from music hall to Monty Python, panto to Partridge. Can our British sense of humour begin to uncover who we are, where we have been and where we might be going next?

Monster Raving Loony by James Graham at the Soho

The Theatre Royal Plymouth will transfer their production of James Graham's new play Monster Raving Loony to the Soho Theatre in central London for a limited run from 14 May to 18 June 2016, with an official opening on 17 May 2016.

The production had its UK première earlier this year at The Drum, Theatre Royal Plymouth, and is described as having "party fun and punkish anarchy".
