Strictly Come Dancing The Live Tour 2017 - Wembley
Strictly Come Dancing The Live Tour is returning to Wembley’s SSE Arena in 2017! The live touring show has proved incredibly popular with fans of the BBC1 Saturday night television phenomenon since its first production in 2008. Audiences relish the opportunity to see their favourite celebrity dancers live on stage, and this year’s tour is sure to be just as popular. Only four London dates are available, with the tour finishing up at the O2 Arena after these Wembley SSE Arena dates.
Presented in an impressive stage spectacle, Strictly Come Dancing The Live Tour 2017 will bring together contestants of the 14th series of Strictly Come Dancing, along with several of their professional dance partners, offering them the change to dance again in competition in front of a live audience. The evening adopts the format of an episode of the BBC1 show, inviting audiences to vote for the best dance of the evening, and crowning another Strictly winner. Our favourite judges will be on hand to help the audience make up their minds, offering their words of wisdom with the eccentricity we have grown accustomed to.
The live tours have offered the public the chance to see several Strictly contestants on stage, as well as series winners Tom Chambers, Jill Halfpenny, Chris Hollins, Caroline Flack, Louis Smith, Kara Tointon, Harry Judd, Abbey Clancy and last year’s winner Jay McGuiness. We’ll have to watch the current series to crown our next winner to be in with a chance of seeing them live on tour!
The line-up of celebrity dancers for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing is as strong as any year, with MP Ed Balls stepping out onto the dance floor and Olympians Greg Rutherford and Claudia Fragapane hoping that their grace in the sporting arena translates to the ballroom. Singers Louise Redknapp, Pop Idol winner Will Young, as well as American star Anastasia obviously have musicality, but can that musicality express itself through dance? Familiar faces from television will include Eastenders’ Tameka Empson, Laura Whitmore, BBC presenters Ore Oduba and Naga Munchetty and ITV’s reality judge Robert Rinder. Lesley Joseph of Birds of a Feather will be donning the Strictly sequins, and many will wish to be swept away by Hollyoaks hunk Danny Mac. Completing the line-up are DJ Melvin Odoom and model and actress Daisy Lowe. You can be sure that several of the contestants will be appearing on the live tour, with their commitment being confirmed during the coming weeks.
The judges appearing at this year’s tour will also be confirmed shortly, though resident Mr Nasty and director of the last six live tours, Craig Revel Horwood, looks set to repeat his duties in 2017. The Great British Bake Off host Mel Giedroyc hosted the 2016 Strictly Live Tour and we hope she’ll return with her charm and innuendos for the 2017 experience.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC1 this Saturday, 3rd September, and The Live Tour commences in January 2017. The tour is sure to be a sell-out success, and with only four dates avilable in London be sure to book your tickets to avoid disappointment. And keep dancing!
