The Nightingales Tickets
Gavin and Stacey’s Ruth Jones is set to make a rare stage appearance in William Gaminara’s play The Nightingales, which is set to make its way to the West End following a national tour.
Jones, who is best known for writing and starring in Gavin and Stacey as Nessa, plays Maggie, a newcomer at a local village acapella group. The group is made up of the well-educated choirmaster, his younger wife, a former professional tennis player and his model wife, and a history teacher. They meet weekly, but the arrival of Maggie changes the entire dynamic.
The play is written by William Gaminara, who is best-known for playing Dr Richard Locke in the long-running BBC Radio 4 series The Archers since 1992, and Leo Dalton in Silent Witness for 11 years since 2002. His other plays include According the Hoyle and The Three Lions.
Christopher Luscombe will direct the production, which will open at Theatre Royal Bath in October before touring the UK and eventually transferring to the West End, with casting, date and ticket news to be announced.
