Ahead of its West End premiere, we sat down with Joe DiPietro and David Bryan (the writing team behind Memphis) to talk about their show The Toxic Avenger, how the Arts Theatre compares to performing for 120,000 people with Bon Jovi, and their upcoming musical project based on the life of Princess Diana.

Casting has been announced for the West End transfer of The Toxic Avenger, which opens at the Arts Theatre in September.  With a book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music and lyrics by David Bryan, The Toxic Avenger is a musical based on Lloyd Kaufman’s 1984 film about a geeky man who lands in a barrel of toxic waste and transforms into a monster. The production, directed by Benji Sperring, got its European premiere at Southwark Playhouse last April.
