New cast announced for Motown the Musical in the West End

A new cast has been announced for Motown the Musical, currently running at the Shaftesbury Theatre in the West End. 

The musical is about the successes of the Motown music label, as some of their biggest stars - including Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, the Supremes and Diana Ross - gather to celebrate the label's 25th anniversary. It features musical numbers such as "ABC", "Super Freak", "You've Really Got a Hold on Me" and "Happy Birthday". 

The new cast, as of 6th March 2018, will be led by Jay Perry as Berry Gordy, Natalie Kassanga as Diana Ross and Carl Spencer as Marvin Gaye. David Albury will continue in the role of Smokey Robinson, and Cruz Lee-Ojo and Tumo Reetsang will share the roles of Young Michael Jackson, Berry Gordy and Stevie Wonder. 

Ensemble members of the cast are Chanice Alexandra-Burnett, KM Drew Boateng, Timothy Benjamin, Ryan Carter, Ricardo Castro, Amandla Elynah, Livvy Evans, Segun Fawole, Angela Marie Hurst, Cameron Bernard Jones, Cleopatra Joseph, Duane Lamonte, Nathan Lorainey-Dineen, Mireia Mambo, Matt Overfield, Adam Philpott, Ainsley Hall Ricketts, Lawrence Rowe, Nate Simpson, Jaime Tait, Kyle Turner, Anna Van Ruiten, Cherelle Williams, Lashane Williams, Michael Woolston-Thomas, Jayme-Lee Zanoncelli and Mitchell Zhangazha.

Motown is booking at the Shaftesbury Theatre until 5th January 2019.
