Casting announced for One for Sorrow at the Royal Court

Casting has been announced for One for Sorrow, Cordelia Lynn's latest play which will run in the Jerwood Upstairs at the Royal Court from June.

Directed by James Macdonald, the play is about a 20-year old called Imogen who joins a campaign offering refuge to victims of an attack on London. John arrives - despite Imogen not consulting her family, who see their visitor as direct danger.

One for Sorrow will star Kitty Archer, Pearl Chanda, Neil Dudgeon, Irfan Shamji and Sarah Woodward.

Neil Dudgeon has appeared in a number of Royal Court productions including Blasted, Bliss and Road. His other theatre credits include The Homecoming (Almeida), Yerma and Closer (both National Theatre).

Pearl Chanda was recently seen on stage in the Almeida production of Ink, which transferred to the West End, as well The Angry Brigade at the Bush Theatre and Godchild at Hampstead Theatre.

Sarah Woodward's is currently appearing in the West End production of Quiz, in which she plays the defence lawyer. Her work at the Royal Court includes Jumpy, Love & Information and Presence.

Irfan Shamji's theatre credits include Mayfly (Orange Tree Theatre), Weathered (Southwark Playhouse) and Kenneth Branagh's production of Hamlet.

Kitty Archer will make her professional stage debut in the play.

One for Sorrow is in the Jerwood Upstairs at the Royal Court from 20th June to 11th August, with an official opening on 27th June.
