Playwright James Graham is renowned for his recent string of West End hits such as Ink, Labour of Love, This House and Quiz, which all showcase the writer's trademark wit, style, and ability to crunch vast, intricate topics into palatable, entertaining evenings at the theatre.

For his latest project, he has tried something completely different. Taking inspiration from Charles Dickens' Sketches by Boz, he has enlisted the help of eight emerging writers from a diverse range of backgrounds to paint a theatrical tapestry of modern-day London. Sketching, which currently runs at Wilton's Music Hall, sees Graham weave the stories of the writers into one sweeping narrative.

We spoke to Graham about how he went about choosing the writers from hundreds of entries, and why it was important for him to consider their backgrounds.

Sketching is at Wilton's Music Hall until 27th October.

Sketching tickets are available now.
