Founded in 1967, Classic Stage Company (also known as CSC) is located in the heart of Manhattan’s East Village close to Union Square.

The 199-seat theatre space is highly adaptable, depending on the staging of each CSC production. As a company, CSC strives to produce imaginative revivals of classical plays and musicals for contemporary audiences which often relate to current issues.

In January 2019, the off-Broadway home of Classic Stage Company was renamed The Lynn F. Angelson Theater in honor of Lynn F. Angelson, a devoted supported and long-standing board chair
