After its London premiere in 2022, Mark Shanahan’s A Sherlock Carol will return this year. A Sherlock Carol runs at Marylebone Theatre, with previews from 24 November, an opening night on 30 November, and performances to 7 Jan. 2024.

In A Sherlock Carol, a grown-up Tiny Tim recruits Sherlock Holmes to explore the death of Tim’s benefactor, Ebenezer Scrooge. The thought of an impossible murder, as well as missing diamonds and threatening letters lure Sherlock in. But on a dark Christmas Eve, the detective must overcome his own ghosts to save Christmas for all.

A Sherlock Carol performances will take place at Marylebone Theatre, close to 221B Baker Street, where Sherlock Holmes resides in the Arthur Conan Doyle stories. Casting and a creative team will be announced at a later date.

In a New York Theatre Guide review of A Sherlock Carol, a critic said: “The beauty of A Christmas Carol is that it's become a part of an annual tradition. The new holiday play works an exciting and refreshing script to the otherwise overdone classic story.”
