LondonTheatre.co.uk is the oldest and first website dedicated exclusively to London Theatre, and has been the most trusted London Theatre guide on the web for the past 21 years. Founded in early 1995 at the dawn of commercial internet use, the website continues to be one of the world's highest ranked theatre websites and most trusted sources for London theatre listings, news and reviews.
Founded by the original site Editor Darren Dalglish in 1995, LondonTheatre.co.uk was born from the growing need for UK and international fans of London theatre to read news, reviews and features. Growing quickly through the 90s, along with its first dedicated weekly theatre newsletter, the website built loyal visitors from around the world who would use the site to plan trips to the West End and beyond.
The New York Theatre Guide (www.NewYorkTheatreGuide.com) was created in 2003 to cover Broadway and Off-Broadway news, reviews and features, and continues to grow with a dedicated New York editor, working in affiliation with Broadway.com to provide New York theatre listings and tickets. In 2015 the New York Theatre Guide was awarded accreditation by the Broadway League, and continues to be one of the foremost regarded online theatre guides for the city.
As LondonTheatre.co.uk continued to grow, 2013 and 2014 welcomed three new staff members to oversee the day to day operations of the website and to develop the content to include more news, reviews, features and original content. After 20 years as Editor, Darren retired from the London Theatre Guide at the end of 2014, leaving the website in the hands of Editors Dom O'Hanlon and Tom Millward.
In December 2014, LondonTheatre.co.uk was acquired by Encore Tickets, one of the industry's leading STAR affiliated ticket retailers which works with many well known media, theatre and travel brands. Londontheatre.co.uk’s writers and reviewers have editorial freedom to provide readers with the latest news and views on theatre in London.
In June 2016 LondonTheatre.co.uk entered a new phase in its 21 year history as it launched a brand new website and redesign. Relaunching both the front and back end of the website was a huge task, maintaining 21 years of content as well as all the popular elements of the site and features that our loyal and returning visitors have grown used to over the past two decades.
With over twenty years’ worth of theatre news and reviews, LondonTheatre.co.uk continues to provide accurate listings, exciting features and exclusive interviews, along with up-to-date news and the latest reviews. We are extremely proud of being the oldest and the first dedicated London theatre guide on the web, and will continue to grow and develop to please our readers.
We hope both new and returning visitors enjoy our site redesign. Should you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please feel free to contact our dedicated site editors.
Welcome to LondonTheatre.co.uk – the original London Theatre Guide since 1995.
