After a successful run at the Globe Theatre, Emilia is set to transfer to the West End for a limited season, opening at the Vaudeville Theatre in 2019.

Emilia dramatises the life of Emilia Bassano, a sixteenth-century writer, teacher, poet and mother credited as 'The Dark Lady' of Shakespeare and who is considered to be a muse and inspiration for William Shakespeare. Throughout her life, she regularly performed Shakespeare's sonnets and has been heralded as one of literature's first female voices, with her story told through the production.

The cast for the production is made up of an all-female company, who play male and female roles. The cast includes Nadia Albina, Anna Andresen, Jackie Clune, Saffron Coomber, Jenni Maitland, Clare Perkins, Carolyn Pickles, Sarah Seggari, Sophie Stone, Charity Wakefield, Amanda Wilkin and Tanika Yearwood. Further casting is to be announced.

Emilia is presented in the West End by an all-female producing team including Eleanor Lloyd, Kate Pakenham, Nica Burns and Eilene Davidson.

Emilia was first performed at the Globe Theatre for a limited engagement of 11 performances throughout August and September 2018.

True West is currently playing at the Vaudeville Theatre, set to close on 23rd February 2019.

Emilia will open at the Vaudeville Theatre on 8th March 2019 for a limited season, closing on 15th June 2019.
