‘Marvellous’ to open @sohoplace West End theatre
The new venue will open this autumn.
The West End’s newest venue, @sohoplace, will open this October. Neil Baldwin and Malcolm Clarke’s Marvellous will run at @sohoplace for six weeks from 15 October to 26 November. Book Marvellous tickets on London Theatre.
Marvellous details Neil Baldwin’s eccentric life, from being a famous clown, receiving an honorary degree from Kelle University, and making the New Years Honour list.
Speaking about Marvellous opening @sohoplace, Nica Burns said: “[Marvellous] is a wonderful production of a heartwarming and uplifting tale about an extraordinary man who decided he would lead an exceptional life. And against all the odds, he has and does."
Theresa Heskins directs Suzanne Ahmet, Charlie Bence, Gareth Cassidy, Alex Frost, Mike Hugo, Jerone Marsh-Reid and Daniel Murphy in Marvellous. The show features design by Lis Evans, lighting design by Daniella Beattie, and sound design by Paul Groothius,
Future productions at @sohoplace include shows directed by Josie Rourke and Dominic Cooke.
Soho Place is owned and operated by Nimax Theatres. It's located adjacent to the Astoria Theatre and close to Tottenham Court Road station.
The interior will include a curved auditorium, known as “the hug”, and can change configuration for every production. No seat will be further than six rows from the stage.
