‘Othello’, starring Giles Terera, announces full casting

The Shakespeare play runs in the Lyttelton Theatre.

Find out who will star alongside Giles Terera in Othello at the National Theatre. Othello begins previews in the Lyttelton Theatre on 23 November, ahead of an opening night on 30 November, and performances to 21 Jan. 2023.

Clint Dyer directs a new vision of Othello, which follows a man who rose from slavery to eventually wed a Venetian ambassador. As unseen forces conspire against them, they're unable to decide their future.

Terera plays Othello, alongside Rosy McEwen as Desdemona and Paul Hilton as Iago. They are joined by Jack Bardoe as Roderigo, Rory Fleck Byrne as Cassio, Kirsty J Curtis as Bianca, Tanya Franks as Emilia, Gareth Kennerley as Montano, Martin Marquez as the Duke of Venice,Jay Simpson as Brabantio, Joe Bolland, Peter Eastland, Patrick Elue, Colm Gormley, Joshua Lacey, Katie Matsell, Amy Newton, Sabi Perez, Steffan Rizzi, and Ryan Whittle.

Othello features set design by Chloe Lamford, costume design by Michael Vale, lighting design by Jai Morjaria, and sound design and composition by Pete Malkin and Benjamin Grant.

Othello is at the National Theatre.
