Will Young to star in ‘Song From Far Away’
Simon Stephen and Mark Eitzel’s one-man musical about an individual who takes stock on their life transfers from HOME Manchester to the Hampstead Theatre.
Will Young will return to the London stage to appear in Song From Far Away this summer. The musical runs at the Hampstead Theatre from 28 June to 22 July.
Young plays Willem, a man living in New York who receives a phone call telling him he must return home to Amsterdam. As he considers the lifechanging move, he reflects on his life and decides how to approach the future.
Ivo van Hove directed the world premiere of Simon Stephens and Mark Eitzel’s Song From Far Away at the Young Vic in 2015.
Will Young rose to fame as the first winner of Pop Idol. He earned an Olivier nomination for playing the Emcee in Rufus Norris's 2013 revival of Cabaret. Kirk Jameson directs Young, with a creative team including Ingrid Hu (design,) and Julian Starr (sound design).
Song From Far Away is at Hampstead Theatre.
