Homo Promos presents La Ronde at Rosemary Branch

Homo Promos presents La Ronde, a new musical by David Harrod and Peter Scott-Presland, inspired by the Arthur Schnitzler play, Reigen, at the Rosemary Branch Theatre, a fringe venue in Islington, north London, from 15 Mar to 3 April 2011.

Set in a gay bar of a smallish city in the mid 1990s, and in the bedrooms of the various principals. La Ronde is the only bar in town, the only game in town, so all kinds of gay people have to mingle here. And play the game here. The Kid, on the tiles for the first time, looking for love and reassurance; the Wolf, on the prowl; the Soldier, whose tastes are - interesting; the Fag, full of righteous indignation; and so it goes on - the Dyke, the Wife, the Husband, the Buddy... 8 serial encounters in all - the first half is subtitled 'Lust' and the second 'Love'. They are presided over by the Barman, the man who has seen it all before, and two Bar Flies, who provide the comic commentary.
