Together, they tell the story of activist, actress, and politician Eva Perón. From her humble beginnings in poverty to becoming one of the most powerful women in Latin America, this gripping story recounts Eva's rise to power, her work, and her untimely death.
Evita in London is directed by award-winning director Jamie Lloyd, who also directed an outdoor version of Evita in 2019 at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre.
As Time Out's review said of the 2019 staging, "Forget everything you know about 'Evita': this one properly rocks."
Evita is a musical with an excellent creative team which includes choreography by Fabian Aloise (Sunset Boulevard), set and costume design by Soutra Gilmour (Sunset Boulevard), music supervision and music direction by Alan Williams (Sunset Boulevard), sound design by Adam Fisher (The Last Five Years), wigs, hair and make up design by Carole Hancock (On The Town), fight direction by Kate Waters (The Brightening Air), and intimacy coordination by Ingrid Mackinnon (Once On This Island).
Producer Michael Harrison said: "It's an honour to return to The London Palladium next summer, with my 14th production at the theatre. I'm even more delighted, alongside The Jamie Lloyd Company, to be presenting Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's glorious musical, Evita, and to be collaborating again with Jamie following Sunset Boulevard."
Since it’s 1978 West End premiere, Evita has become a beloved staple of theatre and it has been staged numerous times earning many awards including an Olivier Award for Best Musical and it was the first British musical to receive a Tony Award for Best Musical.
Ages 12+. Children under the age of 4 will not be admitted into the theatre. Anyone aged 15 or under must be accompanied by an adult (18+) and may not sit on their own within the auditorium. All persons entering the theatre must have a valid ticket.
