"Journey's End" casting confirmed!

Casting has been confirmed for R C Sherriff's Journey's End , which opens at the Comedy theatre 21 Jan 04, following previews from 13 Jan 04, and booking to 6 Mar 04

(21st Jan 2004 will mark the 75th anniversary of its first West End performance run at the Savoy Theatre in 1929.)

David Haig's London stage credits include Dead Funny at the Vaudeville in 1994; "Fair Ladies At A Game Of Poem Cards" at the National in 1996; "House and Garden" at the National in 2000; "Life x 3" at the Savoy in 2002; and most recently "Hitchcock Blonde" at the Royal Court & Lyric Theatres in 2003.

Paul Bradley is best known for his role as Nigel Bates in TV's "Eastenders". His recent LOndon stage credits include "Noises Off" at the Piccadilly Theatre in 2003.

Produced by Background, the play is directed by David Grindley, designed by Jonathan Fensom, with lighting by Jason Taylor.

Set against the background of life in the trenches during World War One, the play is based on the author's own experience of the Front. It follows a group of officers behind British lines at St Quentin, France, who await their fate on the front line.
