Macbeth by Wyrd Sisters Theatre at Lion and Unicorn

William Shakespeare's Macbeth by Wyrd Sisters Theatre, at the Lion and Unicorn Theatre, a 70-seat pub fringe venue in Kentish Town, north London, from 16 July to 3 Aug 2013.

Set against the backdrop of a war-torn country to which the men mysteriously never returned, the women were convinced that they could prosper on their own. Macbeth and her cohorts now find themselves confronted with temptation from dubious sources, and begin to question the organically-formed hierarchy of their self-created world where Womankind leads.

Cast includes Mark Rush, Hendrik Elstein , Alexander Allin , Olga Leon , Lucy McCabe , Rosie Secker , Natalie Barclay , Natasha Brown , Freya Alderson , Briony Rawle , Kirtsen Moore, Pernilla Holland , Charlie Ryall , Hannah Cheetham .

Wyrd Sisters Theatre Company was set up in 2013 by Freya Alderson and Charlie Ryall. Specialise in re-tellings of classic plays with a predominantly female cast and crew. Men often get the opportunity to play the women's parts, so why not let the women have a go at the men's?
