Every year, come 23rd April, one playwright, in particular, takes centre stage. A playwright whose prose has survived decades, and remains intact and as relevant as ever.

Shakespeare's plays still have the pulling power to fill the world's biggest theatres, as the most talented actors and creatives in the business put their spin on his timeless words. As we approach Shakespeare Day, celebrated around his birthday on 23rd April, we want to find the definitive Shakespeare play. Below, we have listed every single history, comedy or tragedy play Shakespeare wrote, and we're asking you to vote for your all-time favourite.

If only one of these great plays could survive, which would you choose?

We'll close the poll on 20th April, and reveal the top five Shakespeare plays, as voted for by you, on 23rd April. So share this article on Twitter and Facebook, let the world know who you voted for, and let the best play win.
