‘The Glass Menagerie’ starring Amy Adams starts performances in London
The Tennessee Williams play runs this summer.
Amy Adams begins performances in The Glass Menagerie tonight, 23 May. The Glass Menagerie starts previews at the Duke of York's Theatre on 23 May, ahead of an opening night on 31 May, and performances to 27 August. Book The Glass Menagerie tickets on London Theatre.
The six-time Oscar-nominated actress plays Amanda Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie play. The Tennessee Williams drama follows a family in St. Louis as they try to live alongside one another. The memory play is based on Williams’ upbringing and people in his own family.
Adams plays Amanda Wingfield. She is joined by Lizzie Annis as Laura, Victor Alli as Jim O’Connor, and Paul Hilton and Tom Glynn-Carney who share the role of Tom.
Jeremy Herrin directs The Glass Menagerie. It's the first production from Herrin's new theatre company, Second Half Productions. The Glass Menagerie is designed by Vicki Mortimer, costume design by Edward K. Gibbon, lighting design by Paule Constable and sound designer Nick Powell.
