The Prisoner of Second Avenue at Theatro Technis

Tower Theatre presents The Prisoner of Second Avenue , by Neil Simon, directed Colette Dockery, at the Theatro Technis Theatre, a 120-seat fringe venue near Camden, north London, from 16 to 20 April 2013.

Mel Edison is a middle-aged Manhattan advertising executive on the brink of a breakdown. Living in a 14th-floor apartment, he rages at the noisy neighbours, the clanging garbage-cans and the endless racket of the city. And, when he is fired, he finally cracks up. Mel doesn't hesitate to voice his opinions loudly and often about the things that bother him, and as the list grows, his tenuous grip on mental stability begins to loosen. All the while his wife Edna is trying to cope as her husband eventually spirals out of control. His family arrive with an offer of financial help that Mel knows he needs but can't accept.
