The Trial of the Jew Shylock - Rosemary Branch Theatre

An adaptation of Shakespeare's 'The Merchant of Venice', The Trial of the Jew Shylock by Eric Richard will run at the Rosemary Branch Theatre in north east London from 13 May to 1 June 2014.

This new production is directed by Susannah Lane Bragg and produced by Joe Shefer & Ashley Gunstock for Poetic Justice Productions. The cast includes: Ashley Gunstock, Joshua Jewkes, Emma Lyndon-Stanford, Saul Matlock, Lisa Sheerin, Joe Shefer.

Richard's adaptation follows Shylock and Antonio, two rivals battling for supremacy amongst an environment where money equals power and the law. "Whether 16th or 21st century, for the greedy bankers, brokers and usurers, race and creed are merely tools in their battle - there is only one certainty: The winner takes it all!"
